About the Author: Dolores Cruz
Dolores Cruz began writing professionally after the unexpected death of her youngest son, Eric. Her first book, Look Around; A Mother’s Journey from Grief and Despair to Healing and Hope, chronicles her life before, during, and after her son’s accident.
Her upcoming book, A Bird Named Wisdom, is a collection of poems taken from her journals written during the first 6 years after her son’s transition to spirit.
Dolores continues to honor Eric by sharing healing and hope with other parents whose children have passed away by volunteering as an Affiliate Leader with the organization Helping Parents Heal, and by providing a scholarship for drum students at a Neighborhood Music School in Los Angeles.
Dolores is a retired schoolteacher who enjoys reading, yoga, and teaching tap dance through the local community college. She also enjoys writing her blog which is called Look Around.
Dolores resides near Los Angeles, California with her husband, Joey, and boxer dog, Brandy.
