“Baby Carrots” is a children’s book that contains ten short, “Carrots of Wisdom” stories. Henry the Heron is the wise old bird that hangs out with a variety of critters in the Perry’s backyard. He witnesses many different situations and then offers a simple life lesson. This is a book that helps “plant the seeds” of kindness and understanding in little ones. The stories are all presented in the same clear fashion. Each begins with a “preview” of what lesson is coming. The story concludes with the lesson that was learned. There is something for everyone here, from doves to lizards and many other critters. They learn to appreciate their differences and have compassion for others. They also have alot of fun along the way. The stories are good natured and easy going but the message is clear. This book helps start important conversations with students and your children.
