Meet three women. Veronica Goode, Nikki Peters and Vivian Palmer. What these women have in common is they all share the same heartache, pain and strong resistance to forgive. It is the year 2015 and just like many of us living in this crazy and confused world, they too have had to deal with some form of distrust. Struggle with sexual orientation is at an all-time high. Dealing with how to keep house in order being a single parent, while trying to figure out if family and friends can be trusted. Teenagers are dealing with low self-esteem and lacking the love they so desperately need from their parents. Many people are straying away from the house of the Lord due to the distrust of pastors and the congregation as a whole. There is so much false hope, but the biggest problem of all is people not knowing how to let go and let God. The story you are about to read will make you laugh. It will make you cry and it will definitely make some people angry. To forgive is not for the other person, it is for you. “We live and we learn” is a statement we’ve heard for years. That is on our everyday agenda whether we realize it or not. The question is, “What would you rather have the bitter things in life or the sweet?” Meet some characters: Veronica: “I’m loyal, I trust, I’m beautiful and independent but, “Why do I feel naive, hurt and losing my trust in people?” This is not the woman I’m supposed to be.” Nikki: “I used to care about shit. A lot of shit, but when you let a motherfucker push you to a certain limit you gotta do what you gotta do. I mean I know who I am and if a person don’t like it that’s their issue. I’m a do me how I wanna do me. No holds barred.” Diamond: “I’m a teenager with so much on her plate. All I want is to have a good relationship with my mother. I don’t like the fact that I feel like I’m raising myself but all I can do is pray that one day things will change.” Vivian: “Men are a trip. They want to use you and play you for a fool. I know how strong I’am but yes, sometimes I do fall weak. I’m successful, I pay my own bills and I’m raising my daughter. What more can a woman want? Oh yeah I know; love, a relationship and someone to call her own. Oh well, after my situation I don’t think I’m going to be able to trust no man again.”
