About the Author: Sandra M. Reed

Sandra Reed received her B.A. in English and Drama Education from Dillard University. She served others through various occupations: Chicago Public School teacher, professional actor, and dancer volunteering on several boards and elected official. Four words describe Sandra: Leadership, Experience, Commitment, and Compassion.
Heeding the voices of children and parents, Sandra Reed founded the Myria Reed Foundation for Children with Special Needs. This organization provides the necessary resources and support that will assist special needs children in finding their way in an already complicated world. Traveling on short-term mission trips to Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, and Tanzania to orphanages, schools, and medical centers was an emotional, humbling, blessing. This journey brought new meaning to her life.
Sandra Reed is very passionate about transforming and inspiring. She has written several songs, screenplays, and two fiction novels: Buckwheat’s Journey and A New Journey into the Light: Buckwheat Saves the Galaxy. Her writings are a reflection of her life experiences, which encompass the culture, environment, and people. Sandra desires to encourage solutions and actions. She knows the importance of sharpening her skills; therefore, she networks with various organizations, social media, and blog groups.
