Be you an adult or child, can any mortal believe or even conceive
Santa does not breathe – just kid dreams or schemes gone wild?
Nay, they will forever say, cause good elves know what is at play.
One may say he stays only in a kid’s mind, yet truth ye shall find.
Sip a tip or more of what is in store behind Christmas Gift’s door:

“Once beneath a Christmas moon, the imps huddled
to hear this deer tale to unveil dear Santa’s secret.
So cuddle up to heed huddle scuttlebutt on Clause!
He is not spotted – cause his deer ducks spot flaws,
magically scanning homes before Santa will appear.
Elves claimed Santa named his deer Holiday Cheer.”

Within Christmas Gift you will find other verses from the author’s
thirty year collection to enjoy, in addition to Holiday Cheer Tales.
This author is specially drawn to the type of verses that stimulate
ideas – thoughts that cause people to reflect on all aspects of life,
primarily their own. He likes to emphasize the decisive aspects of
our experience. In essence, the beginnings and ends to all of our
stories are similar. It is the glimmer in the middle that differs – yet
matters. It is this writer’s mission to capture life in a brief phrase
that kindles minds, sets hearts aglow and dwells in souls.

Readers find Christmas Gift cheery and entertaining. It highlights
portions of our lives that touch our deepest feelings at Christmas.
This author is a humorist who will set crisp upturns on your smile.

“A delightful new holiday read”

Five Star Review on Amazon By Casey Living

There are plenty of traditional songs and stories that we love to pull out at Christmas-time and it’s fun when everyone seems to know the words by heart. What I’ve found in recent years is that the family tends to perk up when something new and fresh is added to the mix and I was thrilled to stumbled onto author Stephen Cherokee Drury’s “Christmas Gift”. This is a delightful collection of original prose and poems that Drury has written over the course of thirty years and each is printed over a bright holiday image. Some humorous, others touching, they are wonderful and I can’t wait to share them with the family during the approaching holiday season.

About the Author

On this page, view the brief video
about Christmas Gift & this author.

My writing is offered to any reader,
young and all those young at heart,
who like inspiring thoughts. As well
as books, I write humorous quotes,
posted on PhotoVerseBooks.com, to
help my readers through days.They
are a collection written over the last
thirty years. I look at myself with a
good sense of humor, which makes
life rather simple. Being a humorist
is really pretty easy, words are just
music to me and life provides ideas
for the scores. It is a writer’s task
to capture life in brief phrases that
kindle minds, set hearts aglow and
dwell in souls.

It has always been suitable that the
biographical sketch about an author
should be in third person, though it
is typically the author who writes it.
Well, I have always found that to be
a bit strange. So, allow me to write
in a more straightforward way.

I grew up in a ranching community
in Texas. I have spent all of my life,
except for excursions, in that grand
state of vastness, great beauty and
such totally independent mindset. I
have traveled to wild and beautiful
places, but I have made decidedly
speedy tracks back home to Texas
on my fastest horse.

I spent my former days on trucks,
tractors and combines baling and
bucking hay. I also played baseball
early, then football as an all-district
linebacker. I proceeded to complete
undergraduate, graduate and post-
graduate degrees/advanced studies
in behavioral science, in addition to
philosophy. I am not big on tacking
those educational credentials after
my name, so I refrain from doing it.
I have always shown respect to my
grandpa, Walt, whose heritage was
half Cherokee. I am very proud of
him, thus the namesake Cherokee.

I have written verses all my grown
up life and kept them hidden in my
notebooks. Time spent on education,
adventures and vocations have kept
me from this process of organizing
and publishing. I have owned ranch
related businesses since 1989 and
market my ranches from Texas down
to exquisite places in Argentina and
Brazil. I am probably the only writer
on these pages to have flown in a red
chopper over vast Val Verde County,
Texas a couple of fine times with the
incomparable Jeff Bezos looking over
my Arrowhead Ranches. It was a fun
and remarkable time. God Bless
