Eighteen year old Eve Carter has always been a level-headed individual. She doesn’t make rash decisions. She always takes her time and thinks things through. However, when her best friend and roommate, Ryder convinces her into going to a frat party with him, her world is turned upside. She meets a mysterious tall dark and handsome stranger, who talks her into his bed. There’s something about Adam that screams danger, but Eve is so infatuated with him that she ignores all of warning signs. For the first time in her life she has a one night stand – at least she believes it to be just one night. Her mysterious stranger has other ideas. He becomes infatuated with her, to the point of obsession. He’s determined to make her his.
Eve is completely blindsided when Adam shows up at her apartment the following morning. She begins to think that maybe they can form some kind of relationship, but the more time she spends with Adam the more hesitant she is to move forward. He’s has major mood swings and scares her sometimes. Even though he assures her that he’d never hurt her she’s too suspicious of his behavior to continue with their relationship. She breaks it off. Adam not willing to let her go begins stalking her.
Nineteen year old Ryder Mills is furious when he realizes that his best friend has had sex with one of his frat brothers. She doesn’t even know the guy, for Christ’s sake. What was she thinking? There’s something about Adam that he doesn’t like. He’s not for sure what it is, but he doesn’t like Eve spending so much time with him. Over the years he’s built up so much respect for Eve, that he’s determined to keep her safe. He cares about her, and refuses to let anyone hurt her.
When Ryder breaks things off with his girlfriend over spring break he begins seeing Eve in a different light. He wants to move out of the friend zone, but he’s scared of ruining their friendship. He’s determined to keep Eve in his life.
Will Ryder and Eve be able to move out of the friend zone, or will Adam’s erratic behavior be too much for them to overcome?

” He has ‘risk’ and ‘danger’ written all over him.”
Five Star Review on Amazon By VMLM
Eve has never made rash decisions. Before jumping into things, she likes to make sure it is the right thing to do. Come Adam into the picture and her former policy is chucked out the window. She is so taken by Adam that she can’t think rationally even if he has ‘risk’ and ‘danger’ written all over him.
At first Eve thinks that Adam and she might have something good going on, but when he becomes obsessed with her she starts to see the red flags, especially his moody, aggressive behavior. Eve’s friend, Ryder is worried about Eve seeing Adam, and he is very upset that she took it too far with Adam before even knowing him. Ryder can also sense Adam has a dark side and he is worried for Eve. When Ryder ends his relationship with his girlfriend he becomes more attracted to Eve. What will happen between the three of them? It would be a spoiler if I said anymore. 😉 Melanie has a real mind’s eye for writing about relationships and disorders that plague our society. She weaves her stories with, intrigue, passion, and overcoming obstacles. I also read her book ‘For the Love of Laney’ which deals with an eating disorder as well as self-acceptance. This book deals with psychotic behavior, the warning signs, trust issues and more. This book is full of imagination, and just when you reason you have her strategy figured out, she achieves to amaze you again! **Content alert**This book contains strong coarse language, sexual situations. It is not recommended for readers under the age of 17.
