The Lightbearers by Nora M. Garcia
When Nora first began her research on this project, she knew the story would involve an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh as she has long been fascinated by the ancient Egyptian culture. Browsing through the New York Public Library one day, she accidentally knocked a book off the shelf, which luckily turned out to be a biography of Akhenaten. His life, at first glance, appeared so alluring that she spent the next six months researching his as well as that of his wife Nefertiti. They were both incredibly enlightened and truly many years ahead of their time, in fact Akhenaten’s spiritual enlightenment was said to have influenced Moses. Akhenaten and Nefertiti were also so in love with each other that Akhenaten never took another wife or concubine, something unheard of in those days. They turned out to be the perfect characters for which Nora was able to create a wonderful fantasy. Akhenaten and Nefertiti have been reincarnating together for the past 3300 years. They have been entrusted with the mission of The Lightbearers and whose responsibility, throughout their lifetimes is to be guardians of the human race and to enlighten any whose path they cross. Through reincarnation, during each of their lifetimes, they strive to overcome violence, greed and injustice and in each lifetime, leave pockets of individuals with whom they’ve shared their secrets of life and death. They have, as well, been ascribed with the powers of telepathy, astral projection and psychokinesis. They are highly evolved and highly enlightened. While they can predetermine their respective genders and time in which they return, they have no clue as to their identities. In order to find each other in each lifetime they must determine a place, a time and a signal by which they can identify each other as their appearance is also different. The story unfolds in the 21st century where Jean Crystal, Nefertiti’s incarnate, has been kidnapped by Dr. Natas, whose pl
Five Star Review on Amazon By Serenity
Egypt! Oh how I love Egypt thrown into books, and history about what they do. So this book has a King and a Queen who have lived many lives. Something we always learn about when reading about Egypt. Some classes will tell you they watched over the human race. Now this book give a fun new twist that I loved. Akhenaton and Nefertiti have special powers, making it easier to look over the human race, with each reincarnation.
So as you jump right into the book, you are hooked. You will think, is this the right book? The blurb mentions a king and a queen. So as you start the book it goes right to new characters, who happen to be the king and queen, just during one of their reincarnation times. Right now they are called Jean and George, who are living in the 21st century. Dr. Natas is the guy to be dealt with this time around.
Natas is a true evil. Robots instead of humans? What, a machine is supposed to be better than humans? I never liked the whole robot over human thing. Jean of course has to escape his evil hands and head to George. Together, they must figure out how to end Natas evil ways. Though he is manipulative, maybe the most manipulative character ever. He is also annoying at times, but I think villains are supposed to be. This guy creates one of the biggest troubles ever to the world. Jean and George will have to figure something out and save the human race once again, before they head off into another life.
Oh I really enjoyed this book and want to get some more! Nora can really write and throw in enough twists and turns to keep me going. I hope there will be another life to follow, or that Nora keeps writing some great books. I give this book 5 stars.
