A one-night-stand, or the first day of forever?
BD James is on an upward career path. She works for a tyrant who has already cost her one fiancé, so the last thing she needs is another manipulating man. She’s tired, angry, and ready for a meltdown. What she isn’t ready for is Rafael Cruz—a retired Marine who lives a secret and dangerous double life.
Rafi Cruz is a man who makes things happen, but his timing couldn’t be worse. He’s leaving on a hostage rescue mission in two days, which means he won’t have time for a long slow seduction. He’ll have to work fast, or the hot little BD will slip right through his fingers. She’s the only woman in a long time who’s been strong enough to challenge him—a quality he values highly. He’s reluctant to change his footloose life, but he’ll do whatever it takes not to lose her. She’ll understand. Eventually…
But when BD learns Rafi has deliberately kept her in the dark about his black ops missions, she questions whether he’s the kind of man she can trust, and if he can be as faithful to her as he is to the Corps…
“Sexy page turner with heart!”
Five Star Review on Amazon By Michelle H.
I really fell for Rafi Cruz, and rooted for BD. The plot starts off fast and furious, no boring lead-ins here. The love story is compelling and the family characters are rendered with heartbreaking detail (I loved BD’s nephew!). Sections of the story that focused on Rafi’s mercenary exploits were quite convincing and heart thumping. Something for everyone in this romance! I was moved to tears by Rafi’s heroism and found the story hard to put down. You’ll enjoy it!

MY WRITING JOURNEY
By Patty Campbell
After experiencing a couple of world changing events I found I wanted to pursue a new direction and write books. In the past dozen years I’ve written seven contemporary romance novels–Jelly’s Big Night Out was the first to be published in 2012. Once a Marine was released in June 2013. Risky Business debuted in November 2014.
First book of my Wounded Warrior Trilogy, Heart of a Marine, is now available. I write about romantic heroes who are Wounded Warriors facing challenges. Their journey is to conquer those challenges and find lasting love.
The best part of writing romance – I get to fall in love with a new man every time I write a new story.
