Sarah, in her early 20s, gets called to the hospital late one evening. Her mother, Michelle, has had an aneurysm and is still in a coma from surgery. Sarah notices that her mother has several envelopes with her, stamps on them, but not yet posted. One of them is to Sarah.

When Sarah opens the letter, the life she thought she knew was not real. The letter reveals that the man who Sarah though was her father wasn’t. This letter was due to be mailed after her mother left town, something else Sarah didn’t know was about to happen.

Sarah reads the information left from her mother in order to sort out the truth about her life.

Based on a true story.

Paper Trail is the story of a woman growing up in a small town during the 60s and spans several decades as Sarah learns how her mother sacrificed a life of love and happiness in order to give her a normal childhood.
