The illustrations alone are worth the price of this book. My granddaughter chose this book as a weekend bedtime read as the girl on the cover looks somewhat like her – and she loves cats so a winning combination. The story is a perfect read about friendship. As a retired teacher I would have loved to have had this book in my classroom as a discussion tool and also because the illustrations are perfect for holding up a book during story time. My granddaughter liked it as she could read it aloud and my grandson who is two, was mesmerized by the illustrations. This book would make a great gift too.
About the Author
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Marina Tito started oil painting at the age of six and was awarded a gold and two silver medals, three consecutive years, at the Shankar’s International Children’s Competition held in India. That set the tone for the rest of her career.
After moving to New York at the age of fourteen, Marina received a scholarship for communications from the School of Visual Arts, and embarked in a 25-year-journey as a designer, illustrator, writer and creative director for design studios and advertising agencies in New York City, Vienna and South Florida.
In 2008, while taking flying lessons for her private pilot license, Marina meets Florentine pilot/designer Lorenzo Di Alessandro and five years later the couple starts Good Puppy – Books For Growing Good Kids, publishing children’s picture books, such as Chloe’s Little Secret, Shelby Sheep, Pretty Seeley, May’s Day, Dougie & Kiwi and Betty Bad Kitty’s Bedtime Stories.
Since then, Good Puppy has grown to incorporate mobile games and the Good Puppy Children Behavioral System. A set of emotional and behavioral tools for parents, teachers and therapists, designed in collaboration with family therapist, Gabriel Tito, to improve communication with young children through the use of empathic imagery.
Marina continues to write and illustrate children’s books meant to inspire, grow self-acceptance and acceptance of others, help overcome fears, and bring children closer to a harmonious relationship with their creative subconscious, for a well integrated personality.
