About the Author

Steve Kovacs is a multi-victim of violent crime. At a young age, he was attacked by a criminal and was seconds away from death. Several years later, he was robbed at gunpoint and before he became a police officer, was pinned down by gunfire in his home state of Ohio. At 22, he became a police officer, was extensively trained in SWAT and became an award winning supervisor. He also functioned as a police regional training coordinator in Ohio. Steve’s family was highly involved in the martial arts and now, Steve, is the owner and managing director of The Mayfield Academy of Self-Defense, one of the oldest martial arts studios in Ohio. After police work, Steve became a licensed private investigator and became the general manager of a National security and investigation company. For nearly a decade, Steve taught security, investigations and Criminal Justice on a college level. He is the author of Protect Yourself: The Simple Keys Women Need to be Safe and Secure.
