Book Description:

Dr. David Fazio is a maternity physician at Chicago-Western Medical Hospital. He is a handsome, divorced baby doctor who has more than his share of personal flaws. But Dr. Fazio has one good moral quality going for him: He is a pro-life obstetrician. In a state where late term abortions are now legal, he is being strongly encouraged by the hospital to perform abortions to any patient requesting one.Dr. Fazio has one other problem…he has horrific sleep issues and has been known to be a sleepwalker. He wakes up one morning with severe burns on his hands, while a family planning clinic one block away has burned down to the ground with casualties. The authorities are now suspicious, as the “Abortion Arsonist” is burning down clinics in Chicagoland, and Dr. Fazio has no clue who it is.Every time Dr. Fazio sleeps, he has no concept of where he’ll wake up or any memory of what damage ha may have done the night before…

“Quando Dormo”, (when I sleep) by very interesting author Edward Izzi, is unlike any other book I have read. I mean that, and in a very positive way. The plot is fresh and new, the characters are ‘alive’ and totally believable, and the writing is superb. I really loved it! Thank you, author Izzi. The complicated notion of a sleepwalking, pro-life obstetrician, combined with abortion clinics being burned down in the very real and troubled city of Chicago is enough to make the reader a believer in the possible reality of this wonderful novel. Wow! At first, I thought I would get lost in the story. I did not at all. The dialog is great and flows very naturally. The tempo of the action is gripping and palpable. All of this combines to make a slightly eerie, entertaining, and gripping novel. You really won’t want to put this one down. I noticed that the writing switches from first to third person, as other characters get involved and interested in the situations presented. I thought this was a nice touch and it made the book even more believable. There really is no downside to this book. I highly recommend it to mature readers who are looking for a refreshing plot and great, believable writing. I am very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy this book again.
