Redemption
During the air battle, Harry’s wing man’s plane is hit and destroyed.
When his family perishes in a car crash, Harry Miles is beset by grief he doesn’t know how to control. His dreams of becoming an electronics technician for the United States Air Force are disrupted. In despair, he becomes a driver ferrying pilots to their planes on the flight line, which inspires him to learn flying. The exhilaration he feels in flight begins to fill the emotional hole in which he’s been trapped. He rises to become a Top Gun fighter pilot.
In a combat air patrol mission over the Iraq/Iran border, Harry meets his archenemy, Mar, an Iranian Captain who leads multiple attacks against American planes. During the air battle, Harry’s wing man’s plane is hit and destroyed. Harry retaliates and engages multiple Iranian fighter planes and achieves a great victory. Having lost consciousness while suffering a near-death experience during combat, will he ever be allowed to go on another mission? Or else, will he lose the one thing to which he is committed—his destiny as a pilot? His plane has spiraled down, and despite falling in love with Katie, his despair threatens to take him all the way to the bottom, where he loses himself in alcohol.
Will Harry find his way up? Will he ever engage his enemy, Mar, in another aerial encounter and find his own redemption?
