Stick and Stones: A Childhood Memoir

It’s a story of coping with hardship, money was scarce,..

Sticks and Stones is my childhood memoir, it tells the true story of being one of a family of seven children raised in a stone shack which had only two rooms and was devoid of any modern day facilities, in rural Northern Ireland.
Four of us had to sleep in a tin shed even in the harshest of winters, and our toilet was the fields which surrounded the shack, such is the content of the book that I am using a pen name and have changed the names of those mentioned in my story.
It’s a story of coping with hardship, money was scarce, we were poor but we didn’t see ourselves as being poor ’cause we didn’t know any other way, and we had each other, a rich friendship which helped us through.
