There is so much about Teddy Roosevelt beyond his presidency that I didn’t know until reading this book! My kids were fascinated by what we learned together! Awesome illustrations to accompany this well-written biography. Two big thumbs up!

About the Author

FRANK MURPHY has taught a wide variety of grades at the elementary for over 24 years. A history buff, basketball coach & fan, and popular speaker, Frank is the author of many fun historical fiction/biography books for young readers, including several popular Step into Reading History Readers – including the Oppenheim Toy Portfolio 2006 Best Book Award Winner Ben Franklin & the Magic Squares. His all-time favorite book is Jerry Spinelli’s Maniac Magee. Among his other favorites are books by one of his editors, Shana Corey (he can’t wait for her new book The Secret Subway!). His favorite illustrator? Richard Walz, of course!
