Book Description:
On February 13, 2017, two Indiana teenagers, Abigail Williams, 13, and Liberty German, 14, went for a walk in the woods near the abandoned Monon High Bridge.
They never returned home.
Their bodies were discovered on Valentine’s Day morning, sparking a torrent of news coverage and social media speculation that engrossed the attention of people around the world.
A grainy photo of the suspected killer walking across the bridge and a chilling cellphone recording of his voice saying “down the hill” captured the public’s attention. Numerous possible suspects were brought to the attention of the authorities but dismissed, leaving everyone wondering who could have committed such a heinous crime.
Author Nic Edwards, host of the wildly popular True Crime Garage podcast, was fascinated by the case and for years conducted his own extensive research and commentary. As such he was able to dissect the investigation that included an extensive list of possible suspects, such as a hatchet-wielding lunatic, a kidnapper with unusual tattoos, a murderous pastor, a rapist, and a father and son catfishing team.
Then in late October 2022, local pharmacy technician Richard Allen was charged with the murders. His arrest raised multiple questions about how he was able to evade law enforcement for so long and what motivated him to commit such a horrific crime.
In THE DELPHI MURDERS: The Quest To Find ‘The Man On The Bridge’, Edwards and his bestselling co-author Brian Whitney (YOU HAVE A VERY SOFT VOICE, SUSAN) provide a detailed account of the investigation from the day the girls’ bodies were found to the events leading up to Allen’s arrest, and unique insight into the minds of the killer and those who worked tirelessly to bring him to justice.
Reviews for the Book
I recently read The Delphi Murders by Nic Edwards and Brian Whitney, and I have to say, I was thoroughly impressed. The book chronicles the 2017 murders of Abby Williams and Libby German, two teenage girls who were tragically killed while hiking in Delphi, Indiana. The authors do an incredible job of providing a detailed and thought-provoking analysis of the case, from the initial investigation to the ongoing search for the killer. What I appreciated most about this book was how the authors provided a human perspective to the case. They included interviews with family members and friends of Abby and Libby, as well as law enforcement officials and other experts who shed light on the intricacies of the investigation. This made the book a gripping and emotionally resonant read, and I found myself fully invested in the case and the search for justice. Another aspect of the book that I enjoyed was how the authors presented different theories and scenarios regarding the identity of the killer. They provided a balanced and objective analysis of the evidence, while also leaving room for readers to draw their own conclusions. I found this approach to be refreshing and engaging, and it kept me hooked until the very end. Overall, I highly recommend The Delphi Murders to anyone interested in true crime, or anyone looking for a well-researched and compelling read. Nic Edwards and Brian Whitney have done an outstanding job of honoring the memories of Abby and Libby while shedding light on a case that has captivated the nation. - BigDaddy050970
