If you are a fan of anything zombie, this is the book for you. Snarky, sarcastic and just campy enough to make it through the gross parts. You won’t want to miss meeting our two reluctant hero’s as they try to escape the Con with a ragbag team of Zombie Hunting Misfits who never expected the Apocalypse to ever actually happen. This is horror comedy with a lesbian twist…and that means you have two badasses in charge and they are taking head counts!
They’re stuck in the Con, and getting out is proving to be more difficult than they expected. All our reluctant adventurers want to do is get home, but it’s not going to be easy.
SO! Join our team of zombie hunters while they sharpen their wits, mow through zombies, and let the sarcasm flow with a sense of humor even the threat of becoming a zombie snackbox can’t curtail.
Warning: Graphic details and foul language. Threat of snorting milk or soda out of your nose. May be prone to sudden outbursts of laughter, talking to oneself and a sudden desire to kill zombies.
“This book was so much fun!!!”
Five Star Review on Amazon By Ameliah Faith
I’m not going to lie, I loved this book!! Roxy and KL are just a pair of zombie hunting cos players at a convention. Their day is about to go seriously wrong!
As with all Rhavensfyre’s work the little details and vivid descriptions were wonderful. The words trapped me and swallowed me whole. It truly felt like the main characters were real people and I was experiencing what they were.
While this story is a zombie thriller it does not take itself overly seriously. There are moments of levity and mirth, thankfully. I found good rock music in the background was a good choice. It kept me pumped and edgy.
One of the things I liked best about this story was seeing it from both KL and Roxy’s POV as they took turns telling the tale. Their inner dialogue were priceless. KL is such a sassy, smart-mouthed, sarcastic little brat (in a good way of course!). One of my favourite lines she had was when she was thinking about the slow, noisy elevator (AKA metal boxes of death)She likens it to a moaning unpaid whore.
Roxy is more steady, like her military training kick in and she works on strategy to get them all to safety and uses her authoritative voice to keep everyone (mostly) in line. They are both kick ass and awesome.
Unlike other Rhavensfyre works this one was not made to be a romantic story and there was no sex but it still managed to have some mushy bits. “Then KL was beside me and everything was OK in the world again” Awww right! There are other sweet moments but this one really stood out.
The story has lots of action and its got a good flow. Lovable and not so lovable characters that made you cheer or hiss, and is so gosh darn well written. Stop reading my words and go read this book!!!
