Although I’m not currently a leader in a hierarchical business organization, I find the information in Dr. Ciaramicoli’s book on soulful leadership immensely practical for my daily life. The AIE (authenticity, integrity, and empathy) qualities he describes are important in all levels of personal interaction. Embodying these characteristics makes us better friends, spouses, co-workers, and volunteers. Dr. Ciaramicoli cites scientific studies as background for his emphasis on the importance of authenticity, integrity, and empathy. He blends the scientific evidence together with stories from his personal experience and the experiences of his clients. This results in an easy to read book that contains much wisdom. It provides practical guidance for those in leadership positions as well as those of us searching for a more meaningful life after a career in a business world that often puts the bottom line above integrity. Dr. Ciaramicoli offers a different approach to “doing business” that integrates success along with personal integrity.
