Reviews for the Book
This was a very enjoyable sexy 'second-chance-at-love' novel. A mature read, where the entire unfolding of this couple's journey felt real and grounded in experience. I loved how the love tie between Khalila and Douglas developed slowly, giving the reader time to truly understand step by step Khalila's pain. For Khalila it took courage to not only open her heart again, coming out of a marriage, with all of the unraveling heartache involved, but also to learn to move on from heart-wrenching tragedy. This was a mature romance which told it like it is. All of the hurts, the insecurities, responsibilities and second guessing were put out there, amid an urge to move on and dare to love again. This author tells a passionate romance, set within a richly descriptive Jamaican-setting, with lovely cultural flourishes, textured detail, and fully fleshed-out characters. All in all, a very nice read. - LS Bergman
