Under the Orange Trees is the follow up to Akin Yilmaz’s debut novel, The Olive Trees, and is set in his father’s village in Cyprus during the late 1950s. It follows an archaeologist in his quest to find Roman treasure whilst he gets caught up in the troubles of the Cyprus Emergency, finding love and death.

About the Author: Akin Yilmaz

Akin Yilmaz was born in Tottenham, North London to Parents who emigrated from Cyprus in the 1960s. He trained as an accountant after leaving school and has a masters degree in Psychology. Akin is currently Director of Finance at the Greyhound Board of Great Britain, the governing body of licensed greyhound racing in the UK. His voluntary roles include being Company Secretary of Enfield Town Football Club and Governor of Enfield Grammar School. Akin is a FA qualified football coach and used to coach one of the Enfield Town FC youth teams. He is married to Binnur and they have 3 children. The Olive Trees is his debut novel.
