This is a must read for any parent or even a parent-to-be who would like to help their child succeed personally and academically…..in and out of the classroom. The author of this book is very knowledgeable about education and the system it lives in as well as how discipline and education can successfully interact with both the parent and child. James Casale is a very well respected individual and his professional background and expertise in this field is most excellent. With this book and his years of teaching, it’s very obvious he IS making a difference both in the educational setting and family environment….after all a parent is the very first and most important teacher of every child. If you get the chance, read Wise Up: Be the Solution…you’ll be enlightened and you will take wonderful knowledge from it to understand and help your child through his/her learning years to promote a very successful individual.

About the Author

Dr. Casale is a former Florida Teacher of the Year (the first male teacher to be so honored) and the former principal of Purchase School- nationally recognized by the United States Department of Education as a Blue Ribbon School of Excellence.(1988) This year (2013), Dr. Casale celebrates 50 years in public education. He has served students and their parents at every level from elementary school to graduate school. He served his country in the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1962-1968. In 2009/2010-though he had already retired -he accepted a one year full-time position as a fifth grade teacher. This recent experience brought more relevancy and credibility to his work as an adjunct professor teaching Education courses at Palm Beach State College. In November 2010, Dr. Casale launched a website-www.asktheprincipal.info and has written more than 100 articles aimed at informing parents on a variety of Education topics. He has been a guest blogger on various websites, written editorial pieces for the local newspaper, and for six months (7/11-12/11) authored a weekly column for the Naples Daily News in Naples, Florida. His undergraduate work was completed at Providence College and he earned his Ph.D. at Texas A&M University. He is married and has two children and four grandchildren.
