Dusty Barkman, half Blackfoot, half white, comes from a long line of shape-shifters, the ability to become wolf in an instant. A bright, strong young woman, she is determined to help with the repatriation of her friends, the wolves, into upper Montana.
She works her way to Resident Sheriff’s Deputy for Lincoln County, covering the Federal Parks as well as the unincorporated areas of the high country, where men will be men and women had better be damned tough. Especially a cop. Using her talent to befriend the wolves, her wits and law enforcement to protect them, and her heart to do both well, she is soon helped by, of all things, an FBI loner who has secrets of his own. Soon, the two are into a tremendous battle on both sides of the pale that may spell the end of the domain of the wolf… or the end of her life. Maybe both.

Five Star Review on Amazon By Joanne

I found this book and the other two in this series very good, I didn’t want to put it down.
truly a work of imagination and interesting twists.

About the Author

Like many authors, I struggled with that five hundred word essay due on Monday, back in school. I won some simple awards for the effort, but failed to ignite until after nearly twenty years in the real world. My stories come from a blend of imagination and experience, and I seem to have both! How about a list of experience from which to draw: BSEE Undergrad, MS Psych Three years in Electrical Engineering, where I could not believe anyone could assess every thing the heard or saw that slowly… But I learned about technology and logic- and the future thinking of the pros. Eleven years California Highway Patrol, where I could not believe anyone could drive that fast! And I learned about cops and courtrooms, cars and car chases, how to shoot straight, and how to be a cop. Which I did not want to remain. I met some beautiful people in uniform or in the Detective departments along the way. But hours of boredom and seconds of sheer adrenaline were not for me and could not hold my attention.. Three years Motivational Speaker and Seminar Leader for Positive Living Seminars (Developed by Zig Ziglar and Norman Vincent Peale) where I learned how people think, and how to help them think better of themselves. One year counseling services, couples and at risk individuals, where I learned… people are crazy! But then, me too! Too depressing for my personality… Started writing in 1995 to pass the time while on the road providing consulting services to big and small companies alike, focused in the hiring, training and management of people. Too much airport time, hotel time, and simply, alone time. The books flowed, and I was captured. So, my books often draw on some of the above in many places. Now living in beautiful Tampa Bay, Florida, semi retired, I cannot seem to stop. Please, enjoy my books as they are intended, a storyteller’s attempt to give you, for a short while, an escape to another realm.
